Carmen's return to the studio happened because her singing caught the attention of [a2187790] who was about to set up his own small label, [l216614]. He arranged for her to do several sessions in September 1953, which resulted in at least six songs issued on 45's shortly after: [r16738884], [r21970537], and [r27367944]. Five were eventually re-released on Side A of this LP. Side B are the songs of Ivie Anderson.
