Total playing time: 65:55 Birds of Paradise was recorded on May 2, 1965, using three Telefunken 201 microphones and was originally released on SR90430. The Enchanted Lake, Kikimora, and The Last Spring were recorded on May 8, 1962, also using three 201 microphones, and were released on SR90299. Loeffler's Deux Rapsodies was recorded on May 6, 1958, using one 201 and two M56 Telefunken microphones. They were released on SR90277. Hanson's Fantasy Variations on a Theme of Youth was recorded with one 201 and two U47 Telefunken microphones on May 7, 1956, and was first released on SR90165. All of these pieces were recorded in the Eastman Theatre in Rochester, New York, on three-track half-inch tape.
