Recorded on July 14, 1956.
This copy is a repress from the late 50s even though it has Lexington Ave. labels on both sides (using up old label stock which Blue Note was known to do). This pressing is identified by the following characteristics:
1. A "framed" cover.
2. "767 Lexington Avenue" address on the back cover.
3. Deep groove 767 Lexington labels on both sides.
4. Side 1 with RVG etched in the dead wax. This means side 1 is from the first cut and was pressed with the original stampers.
5. Side 2 with RVG *stamped* in the dead wax and "-1" added to the matrix number. This means that Rudy Van Gelder re-cut side 2.
6. Plastylite "P" marking (otherwise known as "ear") stamped in the dead wax on both sides.
7. The vinyl is NOT flat-edged.
