Despite its similar title, this is not the same album as the 1960s release "Percy Grainger Plays Grainger".
It's a new recording of a selection of Grainger's vintage piano rolls (ranging from 1915-1928) as played by a Steinway Duo-Art ("Vorsetzer") pianola, recorded live at ABC Studios, Sydney in May 1982.
The liner notes by producer [a4096939] (1933-2012) contain a song-by-song essay and introduction to the "Vorsetzer" which was constructed by himself (with Peter Phillips and Harold Ball) for the purpose of capturing these new recordings.
Roll numbers & performance dates of the Duo-Art rolls used for this project are not noted on this release but appear above for refererence sourced from "Appendix E: Duo-Art Piano Rolls made by Grainger" in John Bird's definitive biographical study "Percy Grainger" (Elek Books Ltd, London, 1976. ISBN 0 236 40004 5).
This release also features a red sticker on the back from The World Record Club with the printed number 'R 11896'. There's no permanent mention of this being a Club Edition elsewhere on the cover or label artwork.
