Frankie Laine was born Francesco Paolo Lo Vecchio .He said he always liked to sing and started with an engagement at a Chicago ballroom when he was 17.Another stepping stone occurred when he wandered into a Hollywood nightclub to sing a few songs "just for fun". When the applause finally subsided, one person continued to cheer and ask for more. That person was Hoagy Carmichael, Frankie's first big fan. Frankie was immediately hired and was soon known around the world for his songs, records, nightclub performances and TV, and movies. He covered all the genres from Pop, Jazz, R/B, Gospel, Folk, Easy Listening to Country.
During his long career, he released in excess of 125 albums and countless singles. Any music lover, particularly of the 50's and 60's will include a number of Frankie Laine songs among his favorites.
