Playing time: CD1 - 67'06; CD2 - 61'52 Total Time: 128:58 Front and back cover inlays and 72-page booklet are in 5 languages: English, German, French, Finnish and Swedish (the late Bo Karpelan wrote in Finland Swedish). These feature as follows: -- English dominates, with Swedish second; pp.38-71 of the booklet contain the opera’s Swedish libretto with a parallel-text English translation. -- On pp.12-70, Jouni Kaipainen’s essay “Bergman’s Grand Synthesis” and a plot synopsis are printed in (in order) English, German, French, Finnish and Swedish. -- On front and back cover inlays, the English title is most prominent, with the Swedish title beneath it in a much smaller italic font and in square brackets. -- On front, back and booklet covers, the phrase “Opera in Two Acts” appears in English only. On p.3 of the booklet, it appears in all 5 languages, to the right of the opera’s title. -- On pp.4-5, characters’ names are listed in both English and Swedish. -- On pp.6-8, tracklist is in English only. -- On the lower left-hand side, the back cover lists the three phrases “Libretto in English / Deutsche Textbeilage / Texte en français”, followed by “Imprimé en Autriche” and the recording’s total time. Error: Charlotte Hellekant's name is given as "Charlotta Hellekant" on p.4. Spelling "catastrophy", above, follows booklet's own.
