Informations taken from the back cover:
Concerning side A: "Dich, teure Halle", Elisabeth's greeting to the Hall of Song, occurs at the opening of Act II, following a short orchestral prelude. Here Elisabeth sings praises to the Hall of the Wartburg, where will take place the Contest of Song.
Concerning side B: The second excerpt is Wolfram von Eschenbach's song to the Evening Star from the third act, "O du mein holder Abendstern," expressing his love for Elisabeth, hopeless but steadfast.
Concerning Marianne Schech: Marianne Schech, a young soprano of the Munich State Opera, has sung widely throughout Germany and in other parts of Europe. Her work in Wagnerian roles, particularly those of Elisabeth and Elsa, has been outstanding.
Concerning Karl Paul: Karl Paul has also appeared throughout the European continent as well as in Germany, where he is a leading baritone of the Dresden State Opera.
