'This fine band was fomed in the year 1762 and consisted of two trumpets, two french horns, two bassoons and four hautbois or clarinets. The musicians were also required to play string instruments and all "doubled" on violincello, bass, violin or flute. Up to the present day this is also the case and the band you hear on this recording also forms part of the Royal Artillery Orchestra.'
