Ryoanji'yi Çağırmak = Calling Ryoanji

The publication accompanying Sarkis' exhibition "Interpretation of Cage / Ryoanji" at Arter (Istanbul) between November 15, 2013 and January 12, 2014, consists of three parts. The first part includes new writings commissioned for this book and photographs of Sarkis' works referenced in these writings. The second part of the publication brings together reproductions of the 96 watercolor plates that constitute the work titled "Partition de flûte Ryoanji / Cage selon Sarkis." The third part, consisting of a music CD, presents a recording of an improvised musical interpretation of this work by Kudsi Erguner (ney) and Jean-François Lagrost (shakuhachi). On Disc: "Ryoanji'yi Çağırmak" [a1449439]'in, [a26955]'in "Ryoanji" adlı eserinin solo flüt partisyonundan esinlenerek gerçekleştirdiği 96 suluboya yapıtının doğaçlama yorumunu içerir ve Sarkis'in ARTER'deki "Cage / Ryoanji Yorumu" başlıklı sergisine eşlik etmek üzere kaydedilmiştir. "Calling Ryoanji" involves an improvised musical interpretation of 96 watercolours by [a1449439] based on the solo flute score of [a26955]'s work "Ryoanji," recorded to accompany Sarkis' exhibition entitled "Interpretation of Cage / Ryoanji" at ARTER.
