Songs For A Tired City is a sonic exploration of New Delhi, its an attempt at lifting a few of the city's layers and listening to what they reveal. The project started off with live recordings by Shiv Ahuja and Jayant Manchanda exploring interactions between analog tape, field recordings, synths and drum machines on one side and Max/msp and DSP on the other. The first album was thought of as a soundtrack to rides in the Delhi Metro. The second album ‘In Plain Sight’ features improvised recordings of a eurorack modular synthesiser layered with field recordings, hindustani vocals, bansuri, and found sounds from the internet.
