Whether spending a night out together, browsing a record store, or discovering a release from a distance, we all share the same dream. As we wonder about the disappearance of a beloved artist, or the return of one that is missed, both can feel deep and meaningful. The surprising and long-awaited rebirth of Moomin with his debut album on Oathcreations is a sensation! "Into The Distance" occurs as his most colorful and lovesome album, a selection of ten enchanting tracks. The sparkling piano opener "Things I Left Behind" is looking back on Moomin's former appearances on Smallville, Wolf Music, and his own Closer imprint. His ability to transfer a theme or a sample into a magical creation is unique, and the album shows how far he can stretch his own sound between genres. The title track sets the tone, here a classic broken beat meets a warm and mesmerizing synth figure. The most joyful "Joni" is so bright and deep that it surely is an anthem that opens the gate to Moomin's most special microcosm. "The Cut" and "Night Moves" are exceptionally beautiful for star gazing, whereas the cloudy Hip Hop jams "Summers End" and "Island Dreams" take us on a journey to the most comfortable and cozy places in musical heaven.
