Recorded 10 - 17 March 1958 in the Sofiensaal, Vienna. Highlights from the complete recording, which was issued in the UK in 1958 with cat# SXL 2022-23 Early UK stereo version for this cat#. First label, but there may be slightly earlier sleeve variants with 'half-moon' flipbacks or a triangular Decca logo on the front. LABELS: - Black/silver 'grooved wideband' labels - "ORIGINAL RECORDING BY" at 11 o'clock - "Made in England" at bottom (labelography code: ED1) - "N.C.B." and "B.I.E.M." in a box on both sides - "Chappell & Co." on both sides - Matrix numbers printed upside-down SLEEVE: - Front laminated - Straight flipbacks - Boxed "DECCA" logo on front and on back - Large "STEREO" on front top left - Thin spine with no text on it - "Printed in England by Robert Stace." on back - "© The Decca Record Co. Ltd., London, 1958" on back 1st cat# on sleeve. 2nd cat# on labels. Corresponding mono issue has cat# LXT 5520 Tracklisting taken from back of sleeve. Sub tracks are not banded on vinyl. No track duration info on sleeve or labels.
