The Hurting

This is the original 1982 7" edit, not the longer 4:31 7" version from the [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/1476729]1985 re-issue[/url] CD2-3: B-Side of "Pale Shelter (You Don't Give Me Love)" [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/448836]IDEA 2[/url] & [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/1449542]IDEA 212[/url]. This is the original 1982 version, not the slightly longer 2:50 version from the [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/1476729]1985 re-issue[/url] CD2-4: This track was meant to be the version from the B-Side of "Mad World". What is on the disc is the album version. The only difference between this and track CD1-4 is that you hear the track fade to the end without "Memories Fade" starting over the top of it. CD2-5: B-Side of a 2nd pressing of the "Change" 12" [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/5061275]IDEA 412[/url]. This pressing is hard to distinguish from the regular pressings that contain the 7" mix (A sticker on the front was the only way to tell). This track was also added to early cassette pressings of [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/239781]"The Hurting"[/url]. A version of this mix with a later fade was available on the Canadian pressing of the [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/1709289]"Change"[/url] 12" which is 5:15 in length. CD2-6: A-Side of [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/1308468]IDEA 12[/url] CD2-7: This is the original version from [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/1449542]IDEA 212[/url] except that it has a later fade out. The version on the original 12" was only 6:32 in length. CD2-8: This is the version from the 1999 remaster CD of [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/472267]"The Hurting"[/url]. The fade on the original vinyl single ([url=http://www.discogs.com/release/1737175]IDEA 33[/url]) is a few seconds earlier. CD2-9: This is the version from the 1999 remaster CD of [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/472267]"The Hurting"[/url]. The version on the original 12" ([url=http://www.discogs.com/release/114148]IDEA 412[/url]) fades out as opposed to the cold ending version here. CD2-10: This is the version from the 1999 remaster CD of [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/472267]"The Hurting"[/url] titled "Long Version". The version from the original 12" ([url=http://www.discogs.com/release/328685]IDEA 512[/url]) is only 6:51 and fades out as opposed to having the cold ending. CD2-11: B-Side of "Suffer The Children" [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/1308468]IDEA 12[/url] CD2-12: A-Side of [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/117126]IDEA 4[/url] CD2-13: B-Side of "Suffer The Children" [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/1476726]IDEA 1[/url] & [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/1308468]IDEA 12[/url] CD2-14: B-Side of "Change" [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/117126]IDEA 4[/url] CD2-15: This track was meant to be the version from the B-Side of "Pale Shelter" ([url=http://www.discogs.com/release/570879]IDEA 5[/url]) which is 4:07 in length. What is actually on the disc is "Broken Revisited" which was first released on limited cassette pressings of [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/493063]"Songs From The Big Chair"[/url]. It has also been available on the [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/5019859]1999[/url] and [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/690931]2006[/url] remasters of the CD. CD2-16: This is the original single version except that the intro is longer. The first and only other appearance of this mix was on a 1989 sampler CD titled "Five Tracks From The Hurting" [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/3489524]TFFCD 83[/url] (the track fades slightly later on the sampler CD).
