Note: in Simpson's arrangement, the Art of Fugue is transposed up a fourth (from D minor to G minor) to adapt the tessitura of the parts to the range of a standard string quartet. Contrapunctus XIII (track 14 to 15) is played in the four-part "Alio modo" version BWV1080,18. Tovey's completion of Contrapunctus 14 begins at 8:22 (track 16).
