This album is a re-coupling of pieces drawn from two commemorative discs issued by JVC [url=https://www.discogs.com/release/1440966]“Orchestral Space Volume I” (SJV-1501)[/url] and [url=https://www.discogs.com/release/13007802]Volume II (SJV-1513)[/url]. This is the first American release of these performances. This issue has been newly mastered using advanced equipment in JVC's state-of-the-art studios and pressed in Japan for Varese Sarabande under rigid quality control standards. Cover: Photograph of Mars from Viking Orbiter II as it approached the dawn side of the planet in August, 1976. At the top, with water ice cloud plumes on its western flank, is Ascreaus Mons, one of the giant Martian volcanoes. In the middle is the great rift canyon called Valles Marineris and near the bottom is the large frosty crater basin named Argyre. The south pole is at the bottom. ℗ © 1978 Varese International.
